April's Challenge!

April....oh how I love this month!!
The arrival of spring, rejoicing in Easter, and my
handsome farmer husband's birthday!!

I thought since April brings the celebration
of so much NEW LIFE, it would be fitting for
our challenge this month to create a baby card.
So here's dealy-o, keeping in mind all things fresh,
new, cute and roly-poly!

Create a CIRCLE-shaped card,
using a NEW (to you) product or embellishment
that you haven't opened yet (you know the
pretty things that you hoard and just look at,
because they are so gorgeous...USE THEM!!),
for a sweet little BABE (anything goes: think 'Congrats
on your bun in the oven', an infant baptism,
new baby, adoption, or 1st birthday card).

So there you go. You have until April 30th to
post your creation. Go and get crafty!!

March Madness from Angela

So here's my card for this month...
Talk about a challenge!! This card definitely
went through some serious re-working before
I was happy with the finished product.

You can't really tell in the picture, but
the hearts that are stamped on the kraft
paper have a subtle, glittery finish due to
two-steppin' with some Versamark 'Dazzle'
before I inked them up with the Pale Plum.
Obviously, the colours are purples and greens
and it is a birthday card...I missed a couple
birthdays while I was out West and so the
inside reads "Sorry I'm late. Happy Birthday!"
For all the card details, you can visit The Scrapyard.

This was a great challenge - totally had to don
my thinking cap for this one :) Thanks Marnie!!
I'm having a blast playing along with you gals - so
stay tuned for April's challenge, coming on Thursday!

Marnie's March Madness

I had a good time making this month's card. I pondered for a while, sat down and sketched out my idea, and then set to work. This is the result:

This is a 3" x 6" card. I embossed the flowers in the lower right-hand side of the card in green, two-step stamped the butterfly with two other shades of green, cut it out and popped it up on the card with dimensionals. Then I highlighted the flight pattern of the butterfly with some green 'bling' on the purple cardstock base. Simple little birthday card.

March Challenge

March is a great month. Sadly, it usually signals the end of Winter, but on the upside, it's my birthday month! Yippee for me! Please, no gifts :)

So, for March's challenge...

purple/green
birthdays
two-step

Your challenge is to make a birthday card that uses two-step stamping in some way, and uses the colours purple and green on it somewhere.

That's all. The rest is up to you.

Happy Stamping!

Margarets February Post

Wow - my first card to share with you here on the Hazard County Card Challenge. I tell you Angela sure gave us a difficult challenge, really, did you see the colours on that wrapping paper. LOL

This card took me a bit to make but I think it turned out quite well. The circles may be a bit difficult to see. They are in behind the bird image and are stamped in Rose Red and Tangerine Tango. You know we were required to incorporate those colours in the card so I nicely tucked them in the background.

I did change up my pink a bit that really shows as Angela did say hot pink, so I went with Melon Mambo.

I hope you like this and have a great night. Can't wait to see what Angela has up her sleeve for next month.

Marnie's Card

Argh! This challenge was so.....challenging ;) I was super excited when Angela first issued the challenge, but when I actually sat down and started making a card, I got so frustrated. The ideas seemed so great in my head, but the execution left a lot to be desired. However, I did end up making four different designs, and I decided that this is the best of the bunch:

The colours picked for the challenge can be quite overpowering, so I like how the white in the card helps to balance that out. I got to use my fun scallop edge punch, and my new circle stamps from Unity. Thought this could be a fun little card for a birthday.
