October was a bust on the challenge front. Sorry about that. Life got in the way and the HCCC fell by the wayside.
However, November has arrived and your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to create a card using a stamp/stamp set that you've never used before.
C'mon. You know you have them. You bought that really great stamp set, and were so excited to use it, but just haven't found the time..... Well now is your chance.
Can't wait to see what y'all create.

September - Autumn Challenge
Your challenge,
Autumn.
The first day of Autumn falls on Friday, September 23rd.
I love this time of year. The evenings are cool, and the leaves start to change colour.
I thought September's challenge would be a great way to celebrate this change of seasons.
Have fun :)
Can't wait to see what y'all come up with.

Chairs to You!!! - August Challenge
For this month's challenge, I wanted to do something
that we hadn't done for awhile...so I looked back
in the archives and discovered that we've never used
the same stamp to create with! Soooooooo, without
further ado, I present August's challenge!
Unity's September 2010 Kit of the Month
"When I am with You"
contains a stamp with the image of 5 chairs.
I got this kit solely for that stamp (otherwise I
totally would've skipped it)and have NEVER USED IT!
Gasp! The shame!!
Anyways, it's time has come. Pull out those trendy
little chairs and make something awesome :)
Those are your only parameters:
1. use the chair stamp
2. make something awesome
(And for those of you who are feeling
excluded because you never got on the Unity KOM
bandwagon...feel free to use any chair stamp/image
you'd like. Really, we're not product snobs)
Happy stamping everybody!!

July Festive Challenge
Christmas is almost here (less than 6 months to go!) and I haven't made a single Christmas card yet... this is not good.
So in an effort to get my Christmas card supply started, the challenge for the month of July is to create a set of Christmas Cards that use the following colour combo:
Orange - Yellow - Green
That's it - Christmas and colour - the rest is up to you!
Can't wait to see what you come up with :)

Something Borrowed...
Did you know that the Duke's have a book club?
It's unofficial, but it's true.
Our last co-venture into the world of literature
involved the story 'Something Borrowed' by Emily Giffin.
We both had a good love/hate relationship with the book
and its' characters and now we're waiting to go see it
in theatre...cause that's what members of book clubs do?
So for this month's challenge, I'd like to draw from the
theme of the book and give you these two stipulations:
1.) You must use at least one thing on your card that is NOT
from your crafty stash. Step away from your hoarded
supplies and BORROW something from another area of
your home to put on your creation.
2.) BORROW some inspiration from the 'Happy Mom's
Day Card' on page 75 of the May/June 2011 edition of
Papercrafts magazine. Whether it's the layout, theme,
colour scheme, etc. use this card to get your mojo flowing:
Alright, that's it! Pull up your stamping socks and
make something awesome!!! And have a happy June :)

Mother's Day Challenge
I was stumped trying to decide what to do for the May challenge. It was suggested to me that I centre it around Mother's Day. My first thought was "that is too obvious.... make a Mother's Day card... pfffft". I don't want to issue a challenge that is 'expected'.
But then it was suggested that I issue the challenge from a personal angle (i.e. my mother's favourite colour, etc).
So, your challenge for the month of May is to create a Mother's Day card (or paper craft gift for your mother) inspired by my mother's favourite flower - the gladiolus.
And just to show that I am a caring individual, here's a picture to get you inspired:

March Madness
I just returned from a trip to the sunny south. :)
While there I got to visit a lovely, historic, old church - St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans. This church was chock full 'o stained glass windows:
Your mission for the March Hazzard County Card Challenge is to create a card that is inspired by the above picture.
Happy crafting!

February Blues...
I'm aching for some sunshine.
These grey, dreary days are getting me down!
So, I think for this month's challenge a
cheerful, sunny card is in order.
The details are simple:
Make a bright, happy card.
Layer on the bling and sparkles.
And make a card that will make the
recipient smile the instant they see
it, because they just can't help it!
Hmmm....
And just for the sake of some actual
definition - use your cuttlebug.
Whether you emboss or die cut is up to you!
Alright, I can't wait to be cheered up by
your lovely submissions this month.
Bring on the SUNSHINE!!!

Out With The Old & In With The New
Since January marks the beginning of a New Year, what better way to celebrate than to issue a challenge that will help to get rid of some of your old supplies so that you can make way for new ones!
Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to create a paper craft that uses up some of your little bitty scrap pieces of cardstock and designer paper. You've probably been hoarding them, thinking "I'll be able to use this someday". Well, today is the day :)
This month there are no restrictions as to colour, shape, theme, etc. The only stipulation is that you can only use scraps, and the scrap pieces you use must be smaller than 3" x 3".
So, set your imaginations in motion and start getting crafty. Can't wait to see what y'all come up with.
